Pep Guardiola Signs with PUMA

PUMA have announced a new long-term partnership with Manchester City Manager Pep Guardiola. Following on from their shirt sponsorship of the reigning Premier League champions and Domestic Treble winners, PUMA now have quite possibly the most stylish man in football on their books.

Going beyond the sponsorship package that Manchester City currently have with Puma, Pep is to become a brand ambassador of PUMA products both on and off-pitch, as well as lending his technical expertise and knowledge to PUMA Football. It is likely (and we are hoping) that this will lead to collaborations and Pep’s continued input into the creation of new clothing and footwear. Pep will also feature in brand campaigns, because, well, he is Pep.

Following a decorated career in which he won 14 major club honours, including 6 La Liga titles, and appeared 47 times for Spain, Pep has gone on to become on of the all-time great football managers, holding managerial positions at Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City.

Pep has enjoyed even greater success as a manager than he did as a player, winning 27 major trophies. As a manager, he has become synonymous with playing an innovative and entertaining style of football and has won trophies everywhere he has managed. Not only that, the Catalan has earned a reputation as being one of the best dressed managers in the game by stepping out in casual, smart and high-end fashion brands including Stone Island and more recently DSquared2.

Patterns of the Game by Mark Johnson

Graphic Designer/ Illustrator Mark Johnson has created the Patterns of the Game tee and sweat range to celebrate some of the most iconic football kits of all time.

Some of you may be familiar with Mark’s work as he has produced work for BBC MOTD Magazine, New Balance US, BT Sport, Norwich City FC, Classic Football Shirts & JD Sports.

Kit and Bone Launch ‘Unofficial Replica’ Range

Kit and Bone have created their ‘Unofficial Replica’ series, putting their unmistakable style onto these Umbro football shirts.

In case you don’t know much about Kit and Bone, they are a football art and fashion brand that takes an offbeat look at football shirt culture, replaying classic kits in their unmistakable style. 

Aptly named ‘Unofficial Replica’ the series salutes the random counterfeit shirts that we would all see our mates come home from their holidays with back when we were kids. You know the one, like the kid that turns up with the 2005 David Beckham Real Madrid top with “Semens” splashed across the front rather than “Siemens”.

Shirts which even though you knew they weren’t quite right (and reminding them for weeks about it), somehow made them more intriguing. Creating something different from something so familiar.

Nivelcrack and Umbro Korea have collaborated several times in the past and collaborate once again to produce these bold tops for the summer season. The training range/ lifestyle collection sees monochrome blocks combined with bright green for a typically unique Nivelcrack take on the classic Umbro Double Diamond branding.

A hexagonal graphic sees the iconic logo bouncing all over the layered design with a glowing effect, while the design also hides a deeper, offset diamond look. Very Umbro. Very 90s.

Nivelcrack’s crest appears alongside the more classic Umbro logo across the rest of the collection which comprises hoodies, sweatshirts, tees, and polo shirts. But lets face it, the collection’s highlight is the football jersey and drill top that takes the Double Diamond logo and throws it into a washing machine with a glow stick.

adidas Drop UltraBoost x Manchester United “Red Rose” Edition

adidas Originals have turned to the past to create this special edition Manchester United “Red Rose” themed UltraBoost trainer in homage to when won their very first FA Cup, 110 years ago. The red rose has special significance because it is the emblem of Lancashire, the county in which Manchester resides.

The first of the club’s twelve FA Cups was lifted in 1909 when they beat Bristol City thanks to a solitary Sandy Turnbull goal, a man that played for both Manchester clubs and made 220 appearances for the Red Devils scoring 90 goals. Sandy tragically died in battle during the First World War in 1915.

The kit which Turnbull wore in that final features the red rose of Lancashire and the red rose is embroidered onto the tongue of the trainer. The trainer is complimented with detailing on the insoles which also host the adidas performance logo and club crest.

adidas x Parley Unveil New Juventus Warm Up Jersey

Juventus are the latest team to enjoy the fruits of the collaboration between adidas and ‘Parley For the Oceans’ as the Serie A champions unveil a striking new pink and black tie dye pre-match jersey for the 2019/20 campaign. I mean, just look at it. It’s loud, it’s bold, it’s bonkers!

adidas have worked closely with ‘Parley For The Oceans’ over the past few years to produce a number of statement footwear and clothing pieces, and in the 2019/20 season they are going to strengthen their collaborative relationship by producing a set of unique designs for some of the most iconic adidas football clubs.

The warm up jersey is made completely from plastic retrieved and recycled from our oceans, so not only does it look good, it also does good too. Parley are a force for change and adidas have really got behind them and with that they are working together in a project that helps to saves our seas while demanding change from governments and corporations to create a greener future when it comes to the treatment of plastic waste.

This warm up jersey will be worn by Juventus in pre-match warm-ups throughout their pre-season schedule and 19/20 season fixtures and will be available at Pro Direct Soccer.

SVD x adidas Sobakov Boost

The Spanish based fashion retailer Sivadescalzo, that specialise in limited edition and re-edition sneakers have collaborated with adidas Consortium to release this limited edition version of the Sobakov Boost, which is inspired by the 1982 World Cup held in Spain, and its iconic official mascot: Naranjito. 

The striking colourway of orange, blue, green and black are fused in the upper part of mesh and suede, contrasting with a large white tongue. The characteristic rubber sole with wavy spike design that is synonymous with the Sobakov is combined with a boost midsole in the heel area, providing further comfort of the shoe.

The Sobakov Boosts come with a limited edition t-shirt featuring the same design and colourway. SVD launched these at their Madrid store with an event featuring art, fashion, music and of course football. The boots are available on the SVD website HERE and are priced at €180.
