Back in 2006 Lotto created the world’s first ever laceless football boot, the Zhero Gravity, which was ahead of its time, but was also too radical for consumers at the time. Fast forward to 2019 now and Lotto are throwing their hat into the ring as the kings of the laceless football boot with the launch of the Solista 100 III Gravity.

There has been a seismic shift in the innovation of football boots since the Zhero Gravity first shook the market with its alien aesthetic back in 2006 (the main boots at the time were the adidas Predator Pulse, adidas F50, the Nike Mercurial Vapors and of course the Nike Total 90) with numerous brands having more recently developed laceless boots through knitted technology with arguably the first breakthrough coming in the form of the adidas Prime Knit.

Lotto have used a seamless one-piece upper to keep weight to a minimum while the knit-elastic mesh wraps around the foot for a locked-in, almost air-tight sensation.

Overall, we would say that it is a strong return for the original creators of the laceless boot, although it would be great to see this boot in the same black and green colourway as their recently released Stadio featured below. A lot has changed in football since 2006, and Lotto have patiently waited and the laceless boot pioneers are back in the game with a design that continues their legacy in style.
