Passing the crown from one generation to the next, PUMA have launched the King Platinum RL especially for Romelu Lukaku. This is a special edition boot that pays homage to the iconic boot that the Belgian’s father used to wear back in his playing days in the 1990s.
As everybody knows, Romelu Lukaku has recently completed his move to Inter Milan, and PUMA have marked the occasion my commissioning a new pair of signature-edition PUMA Kings. Created as a nod to the strikers father, Roger Lukaku, who used to wear Kings back in his playing days, the new King Platinum RL is very similar to the recently released King Platinum but with a few additional detailings.
On the product side, the PUMA King Platinum RL is the same as the standard King Platinum meaning it still features the same premium kangaroo leather upper with a 3D ‘touch’ texture. But it’s in the addition of the white detailing through the upper and on the soleplate, which is completely white, that the differences appear.
Lukaku made the move over to PUMA at the start of the 2018/2019 season and has been wearing the PUMA ONE ever since.
