After debuting their special edition anniversary shirt in the 2019 Community Shield victory Manchester City have launched their full 125th anniversary range by PUMA. This commemorative clothing range takes undoubted inspiration from the Club’s history (which may surprise some but was actually before 2008), and features a lifestyle clothing range, trainers and accessories with the highlights in our view being the glorious track jacket and the match day shirt. Just take our money now PUMA.

The match day shirt features Manchester City’s founding document, which was signed by Joshua Parlby back in April 1894, who as a committee member and later the secretary-manager of Ardwick AFC (previously known as St. Marks) played an instrumental role to establish and incorporate Manchester City Football Club – a club with the community at its heart. The launch comes ahead of the 125th anniversary of the first game that City played, against the now seemingly defunct Bury on 1st September 1894. 125 years is a long time but nevertheless it is quite amazing to look at the contrasting wealth and status of both clubs now.

The anniversary jersey worn in the 2019 Community Shield win at Wembley was designed in collaboration with the club’s fans. Supporters voted on the club’s Cityzens membership portal for their preferred crest, positioning and tone, in addition to a club symbol and commemorative text.

The trainers to feature in this range are the ROMA. The trainer is a rendition of the classic style and comes in a light grey, black and light blue colourway. These suede numbers also feature the Club badge on the tongue label.

The anniversary range includes a fan t-shirt (although we never know who actually buys these kind of fan t-shirts), PUMA T7 track jacket, a cap, ball (which is proper smart) and scarf.

As for that main shirt it’s limited to just 1,894 shirts as a nod to the club’s founding year, so be quick.
